I watched him slip along the shoreline in the clear water and pick gulp down my plastic worm and head for the depths. I had to swim out to ease him out of the very weedy bottom where he buried himself.

Lure / Bait used: Lure | UV Glow Back Mini Brad’s Cut Plug
After fishing in near zero visibility with large swells and chop, the water settled and we pushed out to 400 feet. Dropped the downrigger and green triangle flasher and Brad’s Super Bait Black Cut Plug to 35 feet.

Within five minutes the fishing rod kicked out of the clip and folded over. The drag started screaming, and I knew we were in for a fight. I knew it was not a small fish to start.

After the fish had pulled off 150 yards he started to come up. I got my 150 yards back and he took it again. After three runs he surfaced. When I saw his tail I knew he was big.

15 minutes later he came to the boat. I handed off the rod and I knew I needed to net it myself. The fish barely fit in the net, and then I saw he was wild and knew I would have to release him. Took a picture with the chinook salmon and let the Indians take him later.

Lure / Bait used: Bait | Live Shinners
This was the first oppertunity that I had to go fishing in six years….Due to health issues and then the finiancial drop in my life following, I had finally gotten my fishing licence once again..
Long past due and happy to have got them my oppertunity had arrived when my brother in law bought his boat and asked if I wanted to go fishing with him….He didn’t have to ask twice, after squeezing pennies for the next week I had stashed away enough money for fuel to get to his house in Stockton and enough to buy a dozen shinners as well…I was hoping he could cover the rest.

We launched at Loch Loma Marina in San Rafel, it was good to see Keith again and to know he had plenty of live bait, we headed out from there to catch the high tide at Angel Island in San Francisco Bay….

My brother in law asked me where we were to fish, he haden’t been halibut fishing before, and it had been six years since I had, I pointed to where I drifted years prior and told him, let’s try there…thats where I had caught my first Halibut, and only one…
We positioned the boat and shut her down, lines in I shouted and away we went…We were getting close to shore about 30 minuites into the drift and BAM IT HIT!…WoW! I shouted…it’s a HOG!

10 Minuites later I had put it in the boat….Wow! I cant tell you the Joy I felt after the years of not being able to fish and hooking into this butt….Best of all my wife was going to be pleased since this is her faviorite fish…
When your wife enjoys the fish as much as you do….Makes it all the while worth it…

19.7 Lbs is what it weighed in at, I have a picture of the scale also it’s on my camera phone and I need to figure out how to send it if needed…I appreciate IN Fishermans Program and the opertunity to share my story…Mean While…Fish On!

Lure / Bait used: Lure | UV Glow Back Mini Brad’s Super Bait Cut Plug

August 9th, 2011 Sekiu, Washington – After fishing several different baits, we used a Super Bait Brad’s Mini Cut Plug (UV Glow Back), in 469 feet of water and running 35 feet down with a green and silver e-chip flasher.

After catching at least twenty five native fish (Chinook and Coho), finally landed a 14 pound hatchery Coho, the largest hatchery Coho salmon that the Washington Department of Fish and Game had seen all year so far. The largest Silver Salmon I have ever taken came in on a Brad’s Super Bait Cut Plug – Will never go back to using natural bait again.

Thanks to my boyfriend and Captain, it is a trip that I will never forget and the pictures will last forever – as the salmon will not – on the grill tonight! All I have to say is “thanks” to Brad and his team, the best bait ever.
